INTRODUCTORY COURSE
One day duration - conducted by Mick
Hall
The Course begins at 9a.m. and includes morning tea, a salad
lunch with roast chicken and smoked trout and a light snack with refreshments on return from fishing.
Location: at "Sedgemere", 785 Back Eildon Road, Eildon (see
map under Location on navigation bar).
COURSE INCLUDES:

Gear Assembly and maintenance, the fly jacket and what to carry

Knots, rigs and all about leaders

Fly casting instruction, fault finding and correction
-
Fly casting methods, roll cast, change of direction, reach cast,
etc.

Fly line retrieval techniques and line control methods
-
Methods for fishing both the dry and wet fly
-
Nymph fishing techniques, natural and with indicator
-
Catch and release and how to fight a fish on fly gear.
-
Reading the water and basic entomology
Course concludes late evening; it is a long day!
GEAR REQUIRED

All your own fly fishing gear or gear can be supplied by arrangement,
but it is advisable to learn with your own gear if you have it

As we cannot control the weather, YOU MUST bring wet weather
gear such as rain jacket, waders or rubber boots and a change of clothing

The first is conducted at the Barn where the technical aspects of fly fishing are introduced.Detailed
notes are supplied for this session.
The second session is conducted on the water where our instructors work hard to help you
catch your first wild trout on a fly.
